oh man. i love Saunders' style - everything is just slightly-off-kilter from the real world, and he is so good at putting you into the shoes of odd people in unusual circumstances, often more than one such person in each story, and having it be totally plausible and hang together. "Escape from Spiderhead" is the best story here - a little slice of sci-fi that is beautifully constructed, astonishingly well-written and deeply unsettling.
