A poor adaptation of the popular book. Aside from the annoyance of making several changes to the book (eg: the main characters are now 18yo rather than 12yo; plus Jonas and Fiona are transformed into a love interest), the movie glosses over too much context and fails to build up the drama. For example, the most important part of the book - the real gut punch scene with the Father and one of the twin babies at the Nurturing Center - is totally ruined in the movie because it’s played so flatly and gormlessly.
