Rated Homo Deus: A History of Tomorrow 6/10

'Homo Deus' describes a rather depressing future in which computer algorithms have triumphed mankind in every possible way. The insights Harari gives and the topics he covers in the book definitely give food for thought. However, I feel that Harari often poses his perspective or opinion in an objective manner. Yes, he does provide scientific references, but uses the results of only one or two papers to make hefty claims. 'Homo Deus' is therefore pseudo-scientific at best. Harari does not seem to try to counter any arguments for the demise of mankind at all. Predicting the future is an intricate task, and as far as I know nobody has, luckily, been successful in doing so. I will probably meditate a bit more over Harari's ideas and predictions, but I don't think they should be taken too serious.
