Wes has gotten to the point in his career where people can't tell him shit anymore. No one can say, "Hey man, this is good and all, but how about making the story compelling, or, you know, at least relatable?" He's just wildin' out on set pieces. And usually, when an artist is going sicko mode, I'm all for it, but I think his sicko mode is kind of rudderless. Someone needs to steer this ship, because Wes isn't doing it. I think we need a mentorship program for this man, where we assign him an aspiring young writer fresh out of school who can remind him how to write a script. Maybe it'll help give some form to his nebulous creativity.
