Emotional but not sad. Meaningful and earnest. Each character has full agency and a perception that requires attention, so it’s not just “what will Ruby do?”.  Obviously I connected the most with the father and it took its toll on me. There are so many opportunities for this movie to get cheesy or get overly saccharine, however at each turn the movie showed restraint and chose the earnest/genuine path. Loved this movie completely. Hope it wins ALL the awards.
