Rated She Said 7/10

I have to separate my review into 2 parts. The movie and the story.  The movie is a paint by numbers newsroom movie. Nothing bad about that but “She Said” certainly did not break any new ground.  It lacked a true pivotal moment, unless you count getting on a conference call and waiting for Weinstein’s official response(?).  The story was heavy, important, and powerful. It was treated with the right amount of care and respect. The movie didn’t need dramatic arcs, inciting incidents, or a true climax because the story did not need those. Unfortunately it makes for a weird movie/documentary hybrid that can seem odd.  Can’t say enough good things about the lead actresses, Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan. They knocked it out of the park.  Plenty of depth in the ensemble.
