Rated Aftersun 8/10

Admittedly went through the motions while watching most of this film. However, the last 10-15 minutes pulled me in and catapulted this movie from a C to a high B. Hard to believe that a short song lyric could destroy me as much as “this is our last dance” from Under Pressure did.  Such a skillful combination of a girl growing into a woman and a father “putting on a good face” while battling depression. While there may not have been true evidence of this, I believe that Sophie was recognizing that her father was struggling but could remain an innocent girl.
