Rated Sorry, Baby 8/10

Came into this movie cold, so I didn't know what to expect. After seeing this film, my takeaway was an in-depth analysis of how trauma will seep into all aspects of your life, no matter how well you think you are handling things. Found out after watching that Eva Victor not just starred in this movie but wrote and directed it as well. This movie was undeniable, so it makes sense that she had full control over this process. Agnes was a complex character who earned the audience's compassion. She was refreshingly unpredictable. I liked how each act was a distinctive time period, however being out of chronological order did not seem necessary to me. More of a distraction than anything else. Wasn't in favor of how it ended either, but I didn't have a better idea. Loved John Carrol Lynch in this. He provided a much-needed outsider point of view, ironically from a character from that same town. He's no longer a "that guy".
