This movie asks for WAY too much Suspension of Disbelief. No matter how endearing the characters are or how many hijinks they get into will not allow me to buy that 14 year olds can pull these things off, talk like that to the general public, drink at high levels, smoke like chimneys, and be so self-assured. They stretched the bejeebus out of this film too. Could/Should have been under 90 mins. Kept checking the time and it seemed like I perpetually had 30 mins left. Had all the makings of either a "coming of age" or "day in the life" type film, but it couldn't decide which one to use so it never decided. It ended up being chaotic and sloppy. The main actors/characters are super appealing, so they could simply show up in the frame and things would be fine. I'm selling it short, because there were some decently earned, heartfelt moments. However, the 1-2 punch at the end was too well timed to fit into the end. While we did get moments of sadness at the end, it was quickly followed up with forgiveness and elation, which almost gave me whiplash.
