Each identifying characteristic of this movie seems to an obstacle for my personal immersion.  "Mostly Spanish speaking musical about a leader of Mexican drug cartel who transitioned to a woman" is not a movie I relate all that well to.  Took a while to get used to but I eventually found myself locked into the story. The music grew on me. (some songs are much better than others). Didn't care for the ending. Zoe Saldana steals the show. She should have the best supporting actress Oscar locked up, unless her role gets upgraded to Leading Actress.
