Rated How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy 10/10
I read this less as a book about “doing nothing” and more as a book about refusing to become endlessly available.
Odell writes beautifully about attention, place, resistance, and the small forms of care that survive outside productivity logic. It made me think about social media, silence, walking, local life, and all the ways a person can be present without becoming content.
Quiet, thoughtful, and useful in the way an open window is useful when the room has been too loud for too long.
