I'm a sucker for retellings of myth. Hadestown, Norse Mythology, the Hades video game, and Miller's other book, Circe. Miller does a great job of using simple language to paint a beautiful, resonant picture. She doesn't shy away from the content present in most myths. It is not Disney's Hercules, it is the love story and tragedy of Achilles and Patroclus and the machinations of power-hungry men and gods.
