Ultimately, this is a story about love and family in all of its different forms. The author explores real love, distorted loved, broken love, love lost, teenage love, love of friends, love of a place. We see the history of family, learning about others' families, broken and whole families, blood and chosen families, families in time and place.<br><br>You can read the synopsis for some basic plot points and content, but these things are the core of what make this book so incredibly human, and what made me literally sob as I listened to the last hour of it.
