Rated All Is Lost 8/10

I will never stop being amazed by this movie. How do you make a good movie when you only have about 50 words of dialogue? Have Robert Redford put on one of his best acting performances and have an amazing, ruthless silent villain. Robert Redford stuns the whole way through as a normal dude in a boat who has to go and fight against nature as everything goes against him in an epic battle of survival. It's hard watching as everything seems to work against him and things get more and more desperate, but even without words Redford sells every emotion. I never thought a movie with almost no dialogue could be interesting, but they do it. They find a way to make the struggles of a mostly silent protagonist going through hell and back (figuratively) interesting despite how mundane many of the activities are. How they did it, don't ask me. I still can't figure it out after all these years. It's a very well made film (outside of a few obvious edits) that I definitely recommend. That said, I do want to warn you: it's not the easiest film to watch.
