Rated Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Best of Both Worlds 8/10

They nailed it, completely. Early on in "The Next Generation('s)" run it struggled, a lot with not feeling like it was a riff off of the original series and trying to recapture this magic. Throughout season three, it started feeling less and less like TOS 2.0 and more like it's own thing, and this is the two-parter that cemented that TNG was it's own series doing it's own thing and was just as good, if not better than TOS. I love how tense it all feels. The Borg feels genuinely terrifying. It is one hive mind that knows everything, and resistance truly is futile. The Enterprise crew is completely outmatched in every way because how can they compete against such a hive mind? Much better than in the movie "First Contact"where the Borg was only terrifying because they were basically zombies. Anyway, this was fantastic and a great starting place to get someone into Star Trek if they've never gotten into it before.
