Rated Muppets Haunted Mansion 4/10
So, we have waited how many years for a new special or movie, and this is what we get? Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't call this bad, but it's not good. It's really, really, mediocre. It feels rushed. The whole forced in emotional arch for Gonzo, if you can call it that, didn't belong. Seriously, why did they have to add that scene of Gonzo overcoming his one fear? It didn't belong, felt forced in. The music wasn't very good, in fact, only the first song was enjoyable. Kermit's voice actor doesn't sound like Kermit. The majority of the jokes don't land. That said, when the jokes do land, they are hilarious. Like, honestly, that was the saving grace of this special. The jokes that did land. They were too good. That said, the jokes were surprisingly not family friendly. I was surprised at the number of adult jokes and jokes that only an adult would get. Really not that family friendly of a Muppets special to be honest. That said, this was a mediocre return of the Muppets, and thankfully it was just a Halloween special, because let's be honest, who cares about Halloween? If this was for another holiday or a regular movie, I would have probably been angry, but since it's for one of the dumbest holidays on earth, I'll give it more of a pass. It's allowed to not be that great in that case. 2.5/5 = Mediocre
