Rated Kubo and the Two Strings 8/10

I love this movie. I remember watching this for the first time. I absolutely loved it. Then I found out that the rest of my family hated it. I never understood why. What's not to like? The protagonist, Kubo is so likeable and so real. All his motivations and actions feel like something we could or would do or feel. Like, his struggles with his mom. I also felt for his mom. I have struggled with mental illnesses that have made it near impossible for me to take care of myself most of the time. The villains felt like an actual threat, something I did not expect out of a family movie. Beetle is such an amazingly loveable character who does an excellent job at providing the comic relief. Definitely one of my favorite comic relief characters of all-time. I may have laughed harder than I should have at "monkey see, monkey do." The ending was truly beautiful and the film score did a fantastic job at bringing the needed atmosphere for the movie. The dialogue was absolutely fantastic. I will never forget "If you need to blink, do it now," a truly memorable way to start the movie. Seriously, if you have never seen this movie, please do. It's absolutely fantastic. 4/5 = Very good
