Rated Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides 4/10

This is easily the most boring POTC movie. The score, is uninspired and uninteresting. There is no creativity in the cinematography. Gore Verbinski is gone and so is his mastery with the camera and creating visually interesting moments. Mr. Gibbs feels thrown in and under-utilized. Barbossa throwing in with the British feels out of character for him. Blackbeard feels like a lesser Davy Jones. That said, I did like the additions of Penelope, Philip and Syrena. I thought they were interesting characters. I am also quite thankful for a much simpler story. 2.5/5 = Mediocre
